Amazing landscape near Prescott, AZ

The last day of my four-week-long trip started at the Willow Lake area northeast of Prescott. When I left Colorado, most of the leaves were off the trees, but here there was still some fall color.

The rock formations around the lake were astonishing.

Finally, at the end of the day, it was time to hit the road and put a few miles between myself and home. On the way down the steep grade towards the desert, I stopped to capture the sunset.

Starting the long drive back home . . .

After this incredible drive through some truly amazing scenery, I arrived in beautiful Ouray where I met up with Team_Talisman at the Silver Nugget restaurant.

What a wonderful guy. He met me, a person he only knew from my emails, and immediately gave me a Colorado Geocoin. We talked and talked, and would have kept talking except the restaraunt owner finally came to the table to ask if we needed anything else. I said "No," and then said, "What time do you close?"

"Eight thirty," was the reponse.

Whoops, a quick glance at my watch told me it was nine . . .

Back to caching after the events of the past three weeks

I spent the day with my second cousin, Mary, and her family, introducing them to my addiction.

We had a great day and discovered some interesting locations, including Alfred Packer's grave. He is the infamous cannibal of Colorado. I also discovered some great walking/biking trails down by the river.

I couldn't have made it through the events of the past three weeks without the help of my cousin, Pat, and her daughterm Mary. Their help and support was invaluable.

The food they brought was wonderful also . . . ;-)

I can never thank them enough for their kindness and generosity.

These are some of the pictures from our day of caching in Littleton.
